Quantum Technology

Quantum sensors with new capabilities are driving the field of precision metrology. Our group is pushing the transition of diamond-based quantum sensors from laboratory experiments to mature sensing technology.

Q-Zabre

The Q-Zabre is a state-of-the-art sensor chip for scanning NV-center experiments. The chip incorporates a sharp monolithic diamond tip with a single NV center at its apex that is mounted on a tuning fork for distance control. The diamond probe is integrated on a user-friendly sensor chip.

Nanoscale scanning diamond magnetometer

A nanoscale scanning diamond magnetometer (NSDM) platform instrument, funded by the Swiss Competence Centre for Materials Science and Technology (CCMX), is currently being constructed in our laboratory. After completion, this instrument will be available to external users with the ETH domain. The CCMX-NSDM is the world’s first scanning NV magnetometer to operate as a user facility.
